Best Public Elementary Schools in Santa Monica 

Santa Monica boasts excellent public and private schools, so if you’re in the market for a new home, look at listings close to these ones. Even if you don’t plan on having kids, you should know that property near Santa Monica’s schools is in high demand because of the city’s competitive seller’s market, the popular search request “elementary schools near me,” and Santa Monica’s excellent educational system.

Edison Language Academy

Kids from preschool all the way up to fifth grade study both English and Spanish at Edison Language Academy, a dual immersion elementary school located at 2402 Virginia Avenue. Their rigorous and inclusive curriculum has earned them the title of National Blue Ribbon School of Excellence from the United States Department of Education.

Grant Elementary School

Another excellent option to consider is Grant Elementary School! Grant, a K–5th grade school at 2368 Pearl St., ranks #77 out of 5,919 public elementary schools in California. It could be an ideal place for your children to study and gain knowledge.

McKinley Elementary

Highly motivated to succeed, McKinley has won the California Title I Academic Achievement Award no less than three times. Situated at 2401 Santa Monica Blvd., it is considered the 82nd finest public school in California for educators.

Will Rogers Learning Community

Or perhaps you have always dreamed of your child becoming a proficient engineer or scientist with a degree in STEM? Well, maybe Will Rogers School can’t provide your child with a degree, but it can definitely prepare children for excelling in the future. Recognized as an IB Candidate School, Will Rogers is a highly accomplished school. This institution, which focuses on STEM programs, is located at 2401 14th St.

Franklin Elementary School

Located at 2400 Montana Ave., Franklin serves students in grades K-5. Its test scores are 10 out of 10, its diversity is 9 out of 10, and it gets an A+ rating overall. Sounds incredibly exciting, right? And who knows, maybe this school will become the first perfect step in your child’s educational journey! 

Santa Monica’s Best Public Middle Schools 

As you can see, there is a pretty decent choice for elementary schools, but the things are not so amazing with middle schools. Only two public institutions are ready to welcome new scholars: John Adams Middle School and Lincoln Middle School. 

John Adams Middle School

At 2425 16th St, John Adams serves students in grades 6-8 and has a perfect score of A on Niche.com. It is a pretty decent choice for everyone who cares about their kids’ academic performance in the future! The school is ready to offer superior educational programs and a lot of sports activities and art classes. 

Lincoln Middle School

Lincoln Middle School, located at 1501 California Ave., educates sixth, seventh, and eighth graders and ranks #18 among the top middle school instructors in California. As you can see, Santa Monica doesn’t have any particularly awful schools.

Santa Monica’s Best Public High Schools

For families with students in grades 9 through 12, there are two publicly funded high schools. Before you start looking for a house, it would be helpful to decide which school your adolescents will attend. You really can’t go wrong with choosing a home close to either of these two public high schools.  

  • Santa Monica High School. According to Niche.com, it is the 36th greatest public high school in California school rankings.
  • Olympic High School. Olympic High School, located at 721 Ocean Park Blvd., is an alternative high school with a small enrollment of 140 students who are falling behind in their academic credentials.

Best Private Schools in Santa Monica 

At this point you probably want to ask, “But what about private schools? Can my children enroll into one of those?” And the answer will be—yes, of course, Santa Monica has some of the best private schools in California! Santa Monica luxury real estate buyers should consider the location of several excellent private schools when making a purchase.

Crossroads School for the Art and Sciences 

If your child loves arts or science, the first and most obvious choice will be Crossroads. Situated at 1714 21st Street, Crossroads School for the Arts and Sciences is the 32nd-best private high school in California, and it educates students in grades K-12.

New Roads School 

You can also consider trying your chances with New Roads School—it ranks #88 among all of California’s private schools. With a focus on children in grades K-12, New Roads School seeks to empower youth by promoting equality, opportunity, and justice. Its address is 3131 Olympic Blvd.

Santa Monica Catholic High School 

If you value high morale standards and sincerity, Santa Monica Catholic High School may be a decent place to choose for your child. Encouraging students who exemplify the Gospel message to graduate and develop their own abilities is the objective of the institution, a coeducational parish high school that welcomes students of all faiths and cultures.

Lighthouse Christian Academy

Finally, you have the option to select Lighthouse Christian Academy. Like an actual lighthouse on a stormy night, the institution is ready to open its doors to all newcomers and welcome new scholars under its roof. With an 8:1 student-teacher ratio and an emphasis on partnering with parents to help their children fulfill God’s purpose, Lighthouse Christian Academy serves students in grades 9 through 12.
