LADWP’s ‘Do Not Drink’ Warning for Palisades Fire Area Still in Force, Residents Urged To Avoid Tap Water

Fire-Related Contaminants May Still Be in the Water System, Free Bottled Water Available

The Los Angeles Department of Water and Power’s “Do Not Drink” notice for residents in Pacific Palisades, ZIP code 90272,  and surrounding areas north of San Vicente Boulevard continues to be in force. The danger that the area’s water may have been tainted with fire-related contaminants from the Palisades Fire is still high. 

Officials urged affected customers not to drink or cook with tap water until further notice.

LADWP is providing bottled water at several distribution sites:

  • Veteran’s Barrington Park (300 S. Barrington, Los Angeles, CA 90049)
  • Palisades Branch Library (861 Alma Real Dr., Pacific Palisades, CA 90272)
  • Rustic Canyon Recreation Center (601 Latimer Rd., Santa Monica, CA 90402)
  • LADWP Trailer Facility (16701 Calle Arbolada, Pacific Palisades, CA 90272)
  • LAFD Fire Station 23 (17281 Sunset Blvd., Los Angeles, CA 90272) No LADWP representative on site

Bottled water distribution will be available daily from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Residents can check interactive map app to see if your home falls within the designated areas.

The water supplied to the West Los Angeles Veterans Affairs Campus is safe and outside the affected area. Residents can check an interactive map on LADWP’s website to confirm whether their homes are impacted. For more information, call 1-800-DIAL-DWP.
