Built in 1929, the Miles Playhouse serves as the centerpiece of Lincoln Park

The Santa Monica Conservancy will offer 15-minute guided tours of the historic Miles Playhouse on July 17, organizers announced Friday. The tours, running from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., will take place at 1130 Lincoln Blvd. during the State of the City event.

Built in 1929, the Miles Playhouse serves as the centerpiece of Lincoln Park and exemplifies Spanish Colonial Revival architecture, designed by John Byers, a former Romance languages teacher at Samohi. The tours will highlight its architectural features and its nearly century-long role in the city’s arts, recreation, and cultural landscape.

Tours will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.
