Pacific Coast Highway and Topanga Canyon Lane closures scheduled for Feb. 2–8

Fire-related repairs will trigger daytime and overnight traffic restrictions in Malibu and Pacific Palisades.

Traffic restrictions scheduled for Feb. 2 through Feb. 8 remain in effect along Pacific Coast Highway and Topanga Canyon Boulevard as crews continue emergency and fire-related repairs following the Palisades wildfire, according to Caltrans District 7. 

The following are the closures:

Pacific Coast Highway (State Route 1)
Temescal Canyon Rd. (Pacific Palisades) ➝ Carbon Beach Terrace (Malibu)

  • Active work zone all week
  • Single-lane closures possible weekdays, 9 a.m.–3 p.m.
  • Reduced speeds:
    • Temescal Canyon Rd. ➝ Sunset Blvd.: 35 mph
    • Sunset Blvd. ➝ Carbon Beach Terrace: 25 mph
  • Night work zones possible near:
    • Trancas Canyon Rd. / Guernsey Ave.
    • Corral Canyon Rd. Bridge
  • Near Big Rock Dr.:
    • Northbound PCH reduced to one lane, 9 a.m.–3 p.m. weekdays
  • Near Getty Villa (Coastline Dr. ➝ Porto Marina Way):
    • Northbound lane closures, 9 a.m.–3 p.m. weekdays
  • Castellammare Mesa area (near Sunset Blvd.):
    • Northbound PCH closed nightly, 10 p.m.–6 a.m., Feb. 3–7
    • Both directions share southbound lanes

Ventura County Line ➝ Carbon Beach Terrace

  • Trancas Canyon Rd. ➝ Guernsey Ave.:
    Designated work zones; possible nighttime closures
  • Corral Canyon Rd. Bridge:
    Bridge repairs; possible nighttime closures

South of Las Flores Canyon Rd. ➝ Sunset Blvd.

  • Fire-damaged roadway, drainage, electrical, and slope repairs
  • Lane closures as needed, 9 p.m.–6 a.m. daily

Just South of Big Rock Dr. (less than ½ mile)

  • Catchment wall construction
  • Northbound PCH reduced to one lane, 9 a.m.–3 p.m. weekdays

Las Flores Canyon Rd. ➝ Topanga Canyon Blvd. (SR-27)
Southern California Edison trenching

  • Northbound PCH:
    One lane closed
    • 4 a.m.–3 p.m. weekdays
    • 4 a.m.–4 p.m. weekends
    • 9 p.m.–6 a.m. daily
  • Southbound PCH:
    One lane closed
    • 9 a.m.–5 p.m. weekdays
    • 4 a.m.–4 p.m. weekends
    • 9 p.m.–6 a.m. daily

Just South of Topanga Canyon Blvd. (SR-27)

  • Slope repair and culvert cleanup
  • Northbound PCH:
    One lane closed 6 a.m.–3 p.m. weekdays
    From the SR-27 intersection to about ½ mile south

Coastline Dr. ➝ Porto Marina Way

  • Retaining wall work near the Getty Villa
  • Northbound PCH:
    One lane closed 9 a.m.–3 p.m. weekdays

Topanga Canyon Blvd. (SR-27)

PCH ➝ Grand View Dr.

  • Closed to the public nightly: midnight–5 a.m.
  • One-way traffic with a pilot car during daytime/evening hours
    • Emergency Caltrans work
    • Southern California Edison trenching
  • Expect delays and blind curves
  • Double fines in work zones
