Santa Monica Wins National Procurement Award for Fourth Time

The award recognizes procurement organizations that demonstrate excellence in e-procurement

The city of Santa Monica’s Procurement Division has earned the 2025 Annual Achievement of Excellence in Procurement Award from the National Procurement Institute, marking the fourth time since 2014 the city has received the honor.

The AEP Award recognizes procurement organizations that demonstrate innovation, professionalism, productivity, leadership, and excellence in e-procurement. Santa Monica was among 216 agencies honored in 2025, including 85 cities, 48 counties, 23 special districts, 26 school districts, 15 higher education agencies, seven state or provincial agencies, and 12 others.

“We are honored to receive this prestigious award and to demonstrate our commitment to procurement excellence for the citizens of Santa Monica,” said Procurement Manager Teresa M. Villa. “Our team is proud to be among the best in the nation.”

The National Procurement Institute’s AEP program encourages ongoing organizational improvement and excellence, requiring agencies to meet rigorous standards to earn the award annually.
