Elderly Security Guard Assaulted on Wilshire, Police Seek Suspect

The suspect fled the scene with the flashlight

Santa Monica police are seeking public assistance to identify a suspect who assaulted an elderly security guard early on August 30, 2025, in the 600 block of Wilshire Boulevard.

The incident occurred around 2:50 a.m. when the suspect allegedly struck the guard with the victim’s own flashlight, causing injury. The suspect fled the scene with the flashlight.

The suspect is described as a Black male, aged 25–30, approximately 5’5” to 5’7” tall with a thin build and short curly hair. He was last seen wearing a black shirt with a bear logo on the back, black pants, red and black Nike shoes, and carrying a green backpack.

Authorities have released photos of the suspect and are urging anyone with information to contact the Santa Monica Police Department at (310) 458-8939.
