Weeklong PCH Lane Closures on PCH, Topanga Canyon Set for Fire Repair Work

Drivers are advised to use caution and allow extra travel time through the affected areas

Portions of Pacific Coast Highway and Topanga Canyon Boulevard will face lane and traffic restrictions this week as Caltrans continues emergency repairs related to the Palisades Fire, officials announced.

The work, scheduled from Oct. 6 through Oct. 12, will affect several stretches of PCH between Sunset Boulevard and Carbon Beach Terrace, where crews continue post-fire and utility repair work.

Traffic speeds will remain reduced through the area, with a 45 mph limit between McClure Tunnel and Temescal Canyon Road, 35 mph between Temescal and Sunset, and single-lane closures with a 25 mph limit from Sunset to Carbon Beach between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. on weekdays, according to Caltrans.

Additional work zones include possible nighttime closures near Trancas Canyon Road, Guernsey Avenue and the Corral Canyon Bridge. Lane and shoulder closures are also expected between Big Rock Drive and Topanga Canyon Boulevard for Southern California Edison and fire damage repairs.

On Topanga Canyon Boulevard, one-way traffic control with a pilot car will be in effect from Grand View Drive to the Pacific Coast Highway during overnight hours, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.
