Will Rogers State Historic Park will reopen to the community with a free outdoor movie night May 9, marking a return to public gatherings following the 2025 Palisades Fire.
The event, produced in partnership with Street Food Cinema, will feature a screening of the 1982 film E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial. Organizers said the evening is intended to bring together residents of Pacific Palisades and surrounding areas after disruptions caused by the wildfire.
Gates are scheduled to open at 6:30 p.m., with the movie beginning at 8 p.m. Attendees are encouraged to bring blankets and chairs for lawn seating. Food trucks will be available on site with food and beverages for purchase.
Admission is free, but advance registration is required through the event website at www.streetfoodcinema.com
The park, located in the Santa Monica Mountains, has historically served as a community gathering space. Officials said reopening the grounds for public events is part of a broader effort to restore normal activity in the area following last year’s fire.
Organizers encouraged guests to arrive early to explore the park before the screening begins.
