Ocean Avenue’s New Seafood Restaurant Offers $115 Grand Cru Caviar and Chipotle Infused Tequila

West Side Oyster Club

New seafood spot from longtime local restaurateurs Greg and Yunnie Morena features fresh oysters, po’boys, lobster rolls and casual oceanfront dining near Palisades Park.

West Side Oyster Club, a new seafood restaurant from longtime local restaurateurs Greg and Yunnie Morena, opened Friday at 1355 Ocean Avenue.

The casual beachfront spot specializes in fresh seafood with a mix of classic and elevated offerings. The menu includes a raw bar with East and West Coast oysters, seafood towers, fried oyster and shrimp po’boys, shrimp and chips, crispy calamari, clam chowder served in a bread bowl, and lobster rolls. It also features seasonal salads and children’s options.

Takeout is a key part of the concept. Guests can order caviar service — including a $115 Grand Cru option.

The restaurant also offers a full bar with craft cocktails, such as the Palisades Sunset with chipotle-infused tequila, and a selection of wines and beers that pair with seafood.

Greg and Yunnie Morena have deep roots in Santa Monica’s dining scene. Yunnie’s Korean-American parents founded what is now The Albright on the Santa Monica Pier in 1977. The couple later took over operations of the iconic pier restaurant before launching West Side Oyster Club as the next chapter in their hospitality efforts.
