A veteran Venice gallery owner, activist, and promoter, Sponto died suddenly on December 28. The Sponto Gallery is at 7 Dudley in Venice, Ca. And is a historic space. In the late 1950’s and early 1960’s it was the “Venice West Café’, and to this day Sponto continued the tradition but with his own twists. A spontaneous shrine has evolved at the site.
