The opening of the new West Los Angeles Fisher House on the Westwood VA property took place on Friday, February 6. The house will provide free accommodation, 21 suites, for families of veterans who are receiving treatment at the VA, so they can be with their loved ones. Participating in the ribbon-cutting were (l-r) Audrey Fisher, Vice Chairman, Fisher House Foundation (FHF), David A. Coker, President, FHF, Kenneth Fisher, Chairman & CEO FHF, his children Joshua and Brittney, Scott Erickson, West Los Angeles FHF & American Legion Palisades Post 283, Tammy Fisher, Trustee, FHF, Army Specialist Jerral Hancock, Bill Rosendahl, Los Angeles City Councilman & American Legion Palisades Post 283, Louis Cozolino, West Los Angeles FHF & American Legion Post 283, Supervisor Zev Yaroslavsky, Los Angeles County board of Supervisors, and Ramon Rodriguez, Retired Army Command Sergeant Major. The WLA Fisher House Foundation raised $2.9 million for the project, $2.15 million of which was donated by the American Legion Palisades Post 283 in Pacific Palisades, and the national FHF program matched these funds. photo by Margaret Molloy
