Bobby Shriver Sets Sights on Attorney General:

Santa Monica Councilmember Bobby Shriver may be running next year for California Attorney General, according to his political advisor.

Bobby Shriver, a graduate of Yale Law School, nephew of President John F. Kennedy and, brother of California first lady Maria Shriver, comes from a line of political heavy-hitters, although Shriver, a 54-year old democrat is relatively new to the political area.

Shriver first made it to the Santa Monica City Council in 2004 and then last year was re-elected again, both times finishing at the top of the charts.

Harvey Englander, who orchestrated Shriver’s last two successful runs for Santa Monica City Council said, “There’s been a wide variety of people who have come to him and whom he has used as a sounding board to talk about the job of Attorney General and the role it takes, the profile it has in terms of moving California forward.” Also, Englander described himself as very close to Shriver, saying “California’s top cop is a very powerful position and one that is closest to fitting his (Shriver) role.”

Other mentions for Attorney General are San Francisco District Attorney Kamala Harris, Los Angeles City Attorney Rocky Delgadillo, Alberto Torrico, Ted Lieu, and Pedro Nava who are Assembly Democrats.
