Musical Youth:

The Santa Monica-Malibu Unified School District presented the 60th Annual Stairway of the Stars at the Civic Auditorium on Thursday and Friday, March 26 and 27. The event spotlights the talents of the district’s music students (over 1,000 performed), teachers, and music curriculum with performances by twenty-six bands, orchestras, and choirs, students from elementary through high school. Tom Whaley, Visual and Performing Arts Coordinator for the district, conducted the “Stairway of the Stars” finale, on Friday night.
