St. Monica’s Munoz Is Baseball MVP:

St. Monica senior shortstop Jose Munoz has been named Most Valuable Player of the Camino Real League for the 2009 baseball season.

Munoz batted .481 as St. Monica won the league championship.

Other Mariners who made the first team were Kyle Schwan, Danny White, Michael Redondo and Anthony Yoshinaga. Schwan was the team’s second-leading hitter at .400.

Second team choices included Apollo Nestoras, Andy Loef and Hector Santiesteban.
