Samohi Loses To St. Francis:

Continuing a challenging non-league schedule, the Santa Monica High baseball team took on St. Francis, a member of the formidable Mission League, Wednesday afternoon.

Samohi lost, 9-7, but Coach Sheldon Philip-Guide liked the effort his team put forth against the caliber of opponent it would see in the playoffs.

Samohi has a 4-6 record and will play Buena High Saturday.

The Vikings are pointing toward their Ocean League schedule which begins this month.

Philip-Guide says positions aren’t set with the possible exception of catcher, where co-captain Julian Solomita has been exceptional.
