Alert: Police Blotter:

Good Lord!

On Wednesday, September 15, at 7:55 p.m., officers responded to assist Santa Monica College Police who needed help with a suspect that was disturbing the peace in the area of 1700 Pearl Street. As the officers approached they observed the suspect, a 21-year-old male, cross the street while facing a “No Walk” sign. The officers attempted to stop the suspect, but he fled. The officers did catch him, but he broke free and ran away, jumping over a fence and into a neighbor’s yard.

Officers informed the resident, who gave them permission to check the property, where they discovered this man hiding in the garage, naked, and appearing to be under the influence of a mind altering substance of some strange kind. The officers attempted to apprehend him, but again he resisted, and during this struggle he began to inform the officers that he was God. Not believing him, the officers and continued to do battle with him, until their power overcame his (thus proving that he was not the creator of all creation). Officers took this divine imposter to jail where he refused to give his address. He was booked for felony obstruction, and being under the influence of a controlled substance. His bail is $25,000.

He Drank A Lot!

On Friday, September 17, at 11:40 p.m., officers went to the parking lot in the 1300 block of Second Street in response to a battery in progress. The officers had been informed that a man had thrown a woman to the ground, and was possibly grabbing her neck. When they arrived they spoke with the woman, who told them that she had been at a bar with her husband, and her husband had been cut-off from drinking because he was too drunk by that time. Her husband had become disruptive at the bar, and had been ejected by the security personnel. At that point they had walked to their car in order to return home but an argument had ensued over his degree of drinking. The husband had then stated that he was going to continue drinking with some friends, and had walked off. The woman then asked a parking attendant to assist her in finding their car, and when they located said vehicle, they found the husband already there. Then another argument started over who was going to drive the car, and it was at that moment that the husband had assaulted the wife by throwing her to the ground. Officers observed visible injuries to the victim and arrested the suspect for domestic violence. The suspect, a 29-year-old male, of Mountain View, has a bail of $50,000.
