Samohi Student to Sign with UCLA:

Santa Monica High School girls basketball player Moriah Faulk, a 5-foot-9 senior who gave a verbal commitment to UCLA recently, will officially sign with the school on Wednesday at a ceremony on campus, according to Samohi Athletic Director Daniel Escalera.

Faulk’s family and teammates are expected to be in attendance. It wasn’t known whether anyone from the UCLA women’s basketball program will be on hand. Samohi alumna and freshman on UCLA’s team, Thea Lemberger, lead the team with a per game average of 18.3 points and 3.3 assists.

Faulk and Lady Vikings head coach Marty Verdugo weren’t immediately available to comment.

Faulk averaged 9.9 points as a junior last season as the Lady Vikings went 10-0 in the Ocean League and 28-7 overall.
