Police Looking for Sexual Assualt Suspects:

The Santa Monica Police Department is conducting a search for two men suspected of armed robbery of a vehicle, kidnapping, and sexual assault. The SMPD is requesting the public’s help in finding these men.

The victim in this incident was leaving CVS Pharmacy at 26th Street and Santa Monica Boulevard shortly after 4 a.m. on Feb. 19 and driving southbound on 26th Street, when she stopped for a red light at Colorado Avenue. There, she was accosted by a gun-wielding suspect and an accomplice.

The two suspects forcibly entered the car and drove to the 1900 block of Stewart Street where the victim was sexually assaulted. Afterward, they stole the victim’s car and left her alone at the scene as they fled in her vehicle.

At 5:19 a.m., the Santa Monica Police Department responded to the 1600 block of Cloverfield Boulevard, where the woman notified police she was the victim of an armed robbery, kidnapping, and sexual assault.

The victim’s vehicle was subsequently recovered behind a residence near the 2700 block of Kansas Avenue. It was later discovered that the vehicle had been involved in a hit-and-run collision with a parked car in the 2200 block of Delaware Avenue, which occurred at 4:15 a.m.

The primary suspect is described as a Hispanic male 17- to 23-years-old, 5’ 05” weighing 150-160 lbs, having a “heavy” build, a medium complexion, and waxed eyebrows. The suspect was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black bandana (covering face), and black color jeans.

The second suspect is described as a Hispanic male, 17- to 23-years-old, 5’ 11” or 6′ and weighing 175-190 lbs, having a “thin-skinny” build and medium complexion. The suspect was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black bandana (covering face), and blue color jeans.

Anyone with information concerning the carjacking, kidnapping, or sexual assault, or who may have witnessed the hit-and-run collision, is asked to contact Detective Oscar Flores at 310.458.8478 or Sergeant Ira Rutan at 310.458.8959 or the Santa Monica Police Department (24 hours) at 310.458.8495.
