Santa Monica Cultural Affairs presents the 6th Annual Jazz on the Lawn summer concert series. Bring a picnic, blanket and beach chair and enjoy a sampling of free jazz each Sunday in August from 5 to 7 p.m. on the lawn in front of Santa Monica City Hall. Get up and move to the music then cool off with a frozen treat from the dessert trucks. Performing on August 7 is the high-energy jazz sextet Theo Saunders and Intergeneration. Specializing in global rhythmic grooves and straight ahead swing, Theo Saunders and Intergeneration play original compositions and unusual arrangements of jazz, Broadway and even country covers. Free bike valet in the parking lot north of City Hall. Free parking available after 4 p.m. at Santa Monica Civic Center Auditorium, 1855 Main Street.

A Memory of Two Mondays

Fridays and Saturdays 8 p.m., Sundays 2 p.m.

Due to an overwhelming demand, the Ruskin Group Theatre’s critically acclaimed production of Arthur Miller’s autobiographical play, “A Memory of Two Mondays,” will extend the performance schedule through Sunday, August 28th. The play elegantly, and hilariously at times, depicts the way a common experience can bond people together. Directed by Amelia Mulkey and produced by John Ruskin, Michael Myers, and Mike Reilly.
