Unlike many other countries, the United States does not have an official day to celebrate its children. The Boys & Girls Clubs of America is working to change that by establishing a Saturday in September each year as Boys & Girls Clubs Day for Kids. The Boys & Girls Club of Santa Monica holds its annual Day for Kids Carnival and Celebration this Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The community is invited for a free family carnival with moon bouncers, games, arts and crafts, and much more. Created as a day to foster relationships between adults and children, the mission of BGC Day for Kids is to celebrate American children through the gift of meaningful time. Visit smbgc.org for more information. RSVP: 310.394.2582.
