53-Year-Old Woman Charged For Stealing Bracelet From Santa Monica Bloomingdale’s: APB: Entitlement Program

On Thursday, Sept. 15, at 7:06 p.m. officers of the Santa Monica Police Department went to Bloomingdale’s, located at 315 Colorado Avenue, in response to a report of a woman who had been detained by the loss prevention agents of the store.

Upon arrival, the officers spoke with the loss prevention agents who told them what had happened.

Apparently, the woman had entered the store and approached a jewelry display cabinet, whereupon she had removed a bracelet from the cabinet, and adorned her wrist with this item of jewelry.

She had then proceeded to remove the price tag.

The woman had then walked to the exit, past several cash registers, and left the store without making any attempt to pay for the bracelet.

The loss prevention agents had then apprehended the woman and returned with her to the store in order to await the arrival of the police.

When the officers asked her why she had taken the bracelet, she said that she wanted it, but did not have the money to pay for it so she had decided to simply take it.

This 53-year-old Los Angeles resident was charged with a 666 PC (petty theft with prior convictions). She was not granted bail.
