Santa Monica Fire Inspection Fees Approved By Council:

Santa Monica commercial fire inspections are now available in a a “Tiered Fee Schedule”.

The Santa Monica City Council approved changes at its Tuesday meeting to the commercial fire inspections fees.

That produced a “Tiered Fee Schedule”.

This tiered fee is similar to that of the residential fee schedule, and creates a more equitable approach to billing business owners for fire inspections based on their square footage.

Non-High Rise Commercial Inspections – Individual Suite or Unit Inspection

Square Footage / Fee

0 to 2000 / $73.00

2001 to 5000 / $146.00

5001 to 10,000 / $219.00

10,001 or more / $365.00

Non-High Rise Commercial Inspections – Common Area Inspection

Floors/Square Footage / Fee

Base 1st Story (includes Single Story Buildings / $146.00

Additional Floors; 0 to 2000 sq. ft. /per floor / $36.50

Additional Floors; 2001 to 5000 sq. ft. /per floor / $73.00

Additional Floors; 5001 to 10,000 sq. ft. / per floor / $109.50

Additional Floors; 10,000 sq. ft. or more per floor / $146.00
