Santa Monica Symphony 2012 Overture Brunch To Be Held October 23:

The Santa Monica Symphony will kick off its 67th season with the 2012 Overture Brunch, an afternoon of music, food, and conversation especially for Symphony supporters, on Sunday, Oct. 23 at 11 a.m.

Brunch will be served at the JW Marriott Santa Monica Le Merigot (1740 Ocean Avenue, Santa Monica, CA 90401).

“I always look forward to our opening kickoff brunch because I get to spend more time with some of our supporters and meet new friends of the Symphony,” says Music Director and Conductor Allen Robert Gross. “We also have a special treat in store this year—three of our soloists will be there to play some music and talk about their appearances with the Symphony.”

Violinist Tereza Stanislav, cellist Cécilia Tsan, and flamenco guitarist and composer Adam del Monte will all be in attendance. Each is scheduled to appear with the Symphony this season—Stanislav and Tsan performing Brahms’ Double Concerto for Violin and Cello on October 29 and del Monte premiering his new work Paisajes on January 15, 2012.

Tickets to the 2012 Overture Brunch are $90 per person.

To make a reservation, please contact the Symphony at 310.395.6330.

Space is limited, so interested parties should reserve their place as soon as possible.

The Santa Monica Symphony has been a major cultural asset for Southern California’s Westside community since its debut in 1945.

Music Director Allen Robert Gross has established the Symphony as a top-tier community orchestra that attracts music lovers from all corners of the Los Angeles area.

The Symphony presents five free concerts each season to listeners of all ages, attracting around 6,000 audience members annually.

The first concert of the 2011-12 Season, featuring Tereza Stanislav and Cécilia Tsan, will be held on Saturday, October 29, at 7:30 PM in the Santa Monica Civic Auditorium.

The evening’s program includes Libby Larsen’s Collage: Boogie, Brahms’ Double Concerto for Violin and Cello, and Borodin’s Symphony No. 2.
