Thursday Night Family Dinners A Hit At Huckleberry Cafe:

Most of us know Huckleberry as the breakfast/brunch/lunch spot that has a bakery full of bread, cakes, cookies, cupcakes, puddings, and other sugared delights that will make their way into your meal no matter how full you happen to be.

But everyone needs to eat dinner, and as the second restaurant-child of Zoe Nathan and Josh Loeb, Huckleberry decided to bring Sunday supper to the weeknight when, quite possibly, we need it the most.

Starting at 6 p.m. and serving until 9 p.m., while you can’t get reservations (you won’t need them) you can get a 3 course meal via cafe-style seating and family-style plating.

Tip: “Family-style” means each course (minus the main and dessert) is served on one platter and you serve yourself.

With a fixed menu that changes every week and includes a vegetarian option, Huckleberry promises to feed you no matter the number of mouths you bring or how much time you have to eat. Upon entering, you’ll receive a beer, wine, and soda menu and a long card that lists what’s for dinner. Don’t let the notion of several plates make you feel stuffed – while you will experience an appetizer, salad, main, and dessert every bite is balanced and truly sincere: this is how your mother would feed you if she shopped at the market daily and had time to cook a multi-course dinner.

You won’t leave feeling gross and indulgent – instead, you’ll exit feeling loved and satiated.

For sample, Thursday’s most recent menu included Smashed heirloom tomatoes mini country loaf, Spinach salad with creamy lemon vinaigrette, Niman Ranch meatloaf featuring Weiser Farms mashed potatoes and sautéed green beans, and Baked apples, oat crumble topping with Sweet Rose Creamery vanilla bean ice cream.

Also available to-go, you really have no excuse not to make Thursday night dinner the new Sunday night supper.

Tip: Know what you’re having before you go. Check out the Thursday Night Dinner menu online.
