Brü Haus Launches New Hour Happy In Time For Football, Oktoberfest:

Just a stone’s throw away from Santa Monica on Wilshire Boulevard is Brü Haus that has one of the best happy hours in town that runs 4-8 p.m. weekdays.

Its recently re-vamped happy hour menu features many new items with price points of $3, $5, and $7.

Chef Charlie Hwang said the goal of revamping its happy hour menu was to coincide with the start of the football season and to offer some fun smaller bite options for people to snack on.

“One of our nostalgic items is a frito boat that we serve during football game days and it has been pretty popular,” Hwang said. “Our house made hummus and chips and wedge salad are great sellers too.”

The new happy hour menu includes elevated bar-food items such as the $3 Bacon Avocado Egg Roll, their specialty Sweet Potater Tots for only $5, and delicious $7 Slider Duos available in Bleu Cheese BBQ, Savory K-BBQ, and Avo-Taco with Turkey.

For a more adventurous palate, there are unique dishes such as the $3 Pastrami Egg Rolls and $7 Buffalo & Sweet Sriracha Cauliflower.

Hwang said his favorite happy hour dish was his cauliflower creations.

“I have seen some Buffalo Fried Cauliflower dishes around town and I wanted to do my own take on it,” he said. “We have the buffalo sauce version that has our jalapeno ranch and blue cheese crumbles, but my favorite is the Sweet Sriracha. We fry the cauliflower in an IPA tempura beer batter and coat it with the sauce and finish with some roasted sesame seeds. Some people think it’s chicken if you didn’t tell them. It hasn’t quite caught on yet because people don’t know about it, but everyone who tries it thinks it’s great.

“It’s a great alternative for vegetarians when they have the urge for wings. No one on the Westside has this dish and I think it’s one our stand out items.”

Beer-lovers will find a variety of specialty beers on tap, now available at happy hour prices.

To celebrate Oktoberfest, Brü Haus started offering steins last weekend and will continue to do so for five weeks. Bar-goers can purchase a stein full of its featured beer of the week for $20 and customers can keep the glass; $15 refills will be offered.

Featured brews include selections from Weihenstephan, Paulaner, Ayinger, and Hofbrau breweries every week, as well as individual Oktoberfest specials from Spaten and Hacker Pschorr.

Hwang said they would have a new line up of beers each week highlighting each German brewery.

“We encourage people to come every week to collect different glassware and to try the different beers,” he said.

Brü Haus is open for lunch, dinner, and late night meals seven days a week and brunch on Sunday. It is located at 11831 Wilshire Blvd, Los Angeles. For more information, visit www.bruhauspub.com.
