Day Of The Dead Celebration At Santa Monica’s Woodlawn Cemetery Saturday:

A Day Of The Dead Celebration will be held Saturday

Join the City of Santa Monica for a traditional Mexican celebration this Saturday, Nov. 3 at Woodlawn Cemetery!

From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., create a coronita (crown) of fresh marigolds and papel picado (perforated paper) to honor a loved one who has passed.

Tour the grave sites and explore of Santa Monica’s ancestors. Learn the philosophy and history of the day.

Watch a documentary and discover how a small town in Mexico prepares for Dia de los Muertos.

Participate in the closing traditional Nahuatl Ceremony with live traditional music, and enjoy fresh tamales afterward.

The event is free and open to the public. Woodlawn Cemetery is located at 1847 14th Street in Santa Monica.
