Out Of Control Homeless Woman, 45, Arrested In Santa Monica Parking Lot: Alert Police Blotter: Unruly.

A woman who was causing a disturbance by throwing glass bottles at a parking lot, yelling profanities, and threatening to start a fire was arrested in Santa Monica on Sunday, Oct. 28.

Officers of the Santa Monica Police Department were called to the parking lot at 1554 18th Street at 7:31 a.m. to investigate reports of a woman out of control.

When the officers arrived they detained this 45-year-old homeless woman and began to evaluate her health and state of mind.

As the officers were evaluating her, she kicked one of them in the upper thigh.

The officers responded to this by arresting her and she was charged with battery on a police officer, obstructing a police officer, and a violation of parole.

The bail for this woman was set at $20,000.

Editor’s Note: These reports are part of a regular police coverage series entitled “Alert Police Blotter” (APB), which injects some minor editorial into certain police activities in Santa Monica. Not all of the Mirror’s coverage of incidents involving police are portrayed in this manner. More serious crimes and police-related activities are regularly reported without editorial in the pages of the Santa Monica Mirror and its website, smmirror.com.
