Kiwanis Club Awards Six Scholarships:

The Santa Monica Kiwanis Club has named the six recipients of its annual high school achievement scholarships.

The scholarships are given to outstanding students who show both leadership and a commitment to community service. In addition to four scholarships given in the names of current and past members of the Santa Monica Kiwanis Club, two additional scholarships are awarded to students who have overcome adversity to graduate and go on to college.

The six scholarship winners are: Marlene Gobrial, Santa Monica High School, the Robert Ziebarth Memorial Scholarship; Rudee Bagsby, St. Monica High School, the Alice Carriere Scholarship; Matthew Redfern, Santa Monica High School, theLeo Collins Memorial Scholarship; Imelda Ruelas, Olympic High School, the Kiwanis Achievement Scholarship; Sahoua Gboizo, Santa Monica High School, the Ray Carriere Scholarship; Ruth Legesse, New Roads High School, Kiwanis Achievement Scholarship.
