New Roads Defeated In Playoff Semi-Finals:

New Roads’ march through the CIF Division 7 baseball playoffs ended last week in a 7-5 loss to Eastside Christian of Fullerton at West Los Angeles College.

But coach Sean Brookes and his players will long remember a season in which the smallest school in Santa Monica went the furthest in the playoffs, winning three games to reach the semi-finals.

New Roads finished with an 18-9 record.

Both schools were supported by a large group of fans and played a spirited game. Eastside Christian, which improved its record to 21-5, took an early 3-0 lead before New Roads rallied amd came within one run.

But the visitors from Orange County kept scoring to keep the pressure on.Here’s the roster of the New Roads team which accomplished so much: Matt Ehrenreich, Alex Vibiano, Sebastian David Vibiano, Christian Marquez, Ben Harris, Eric Scott, Jackson Morton, Carlos Soriano, Shotaro Yamada, Nick Cohen, Dylan Bushnell, Matthew Grey and Jordan Goodman.
