St. John’s Health Center Headed Towards New Ownership?: UCLA Health System and Ascension Health Alliance may purchase St. John’s

St. John’s Health Center may be heading towards new ownership after the Santa Monica hospital’s recent management overhaul, according to the LA Times.

The Times reports that UCLA Health System and Ascension Health Alliance in St. Louis are teaming up for a potential acquisition; another strong contender to buy St. John’s is Providence Health & Services, a Catholic hospital chain that owns St. Joseph Medical Center in Burbank and four other Southern California hospitals.

St. John’s interim Chief Executive Mike Wall told physicians this week in an internal memo that “no decisions have been made” about a possible sale of the hospital, according to the Times.
