Against the Grain – Surfing and Punk Rock Collide. A group show celebrating the surf/music symbiosis of the late ‘70s and ‘80s by using surfboards, shaped by prominent board shapers from the era, as canvases. Artist Arturo Vega will apply artwork to the boards. Tracy Park Gallery in Santa Monica (1431 Ocean Avenue, Santa Monica, CA 90401). Friday, August 12th, 6-10 p.m. and Saturday, August 13th, noon – 7 p.m. Admission is free.
