Santa Monica Tea Party To Host Affordable Care Act Panel Discussion Dec. 7:

The LA/Santa Monica Tea Party will host a panel discussion next Saturday, Dec. 7 at 10:30 am at the Santa Monica Public Library, MLK Auditorium on the impact of the launch of the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare) and what Americans can do to regain patient rights and freedom of choice over their medical care.

Organizers of the event said Americans of all political persuasions are learning firsthand that they may lose their current healthcare plan, that they may not be able to keep their doctor, that healthcare costs will go up, not down, for most Americans.

“The Obamacare program is projected to be far more costly than originally budgeted and funding insurance for high risk patients on the backs of the healthy has already demonstrated that it is doomed to failure,” organizers said. “All across America, people are worried and confused.”

To explore the question of what’s next for healthcare, the panel will feature guest speakers, Dr. Joel Strom and Dr. Reed Wilson.

Dr. Strom is founder of Doc Squads and a fellow at the Unruh Institute of Politics at USC.

He has over 25 years of grassroots political leadership experience. In 2011 he started the Doc Squad project, designed to recruit, train, organize and deploy previously non-politically involved physicians to enter into the debate. His team spanned 19 states and appeared on local and national media over 2,000 times. He routinely lectures on leadership and health care to a variety of organizations nationally.

Dr. Wilson is a highly regarded Cardiologist and Internist in the Beverly Hills/Los Angeles area and holds an appointment as an Attending Staff at Cedars Sinai.

Dr. Wilson has appeared on local and nationally syndicated radio shows such as The Dennis Prager show and has served on the Executive Board of the national organization Doctors 4 Patient Care (D4PC).

The Panel will discuss:

1. The dangers of having the federal government inserted between doctor and the patient.

2. The current confused state of Obamacare implementation and what it means for doctor and patient alike.

3. The danger of undermining the Medicare program; healthcare rationing; and bureaucratic “death panels’

4. What can be done to help get the best possible health care for all Americans in the current situation

5. Political action that can be taken to create an atmosphere for creating a better, more sustainable, and freer healthcare system for our country.

Admission to this panel discussion is free and open to the general public. A donation of $5 is suggested. Seating is first come, first served. Early arrival is recommended. Doors open at approximately 10:15 am. It will be held at the Santa Monica Library – MLK Auditorium at 601 Santa Monica Blvd.
