Santa Monica Road Rage Escalates To Handgun Being Pointed At Driver:

A 27-year-old Los Angeles man was arrested on Sunday, Aug. 24 shortly after pointing a handgun during a “road rage” incident in Santa Monica.

Officers of the Santa Monica Police Department received a call about the “road rage” incident at 8 pm on this day in the area of 23rd Street and Navy Street.

The victim had said that the suspect had pulled out a handgun and pointed it at him after a traffic altercation.

The victim had described the suspect’s vehicle and the officers went in search of this car.

The officers discovered the vehicle in the 12000 block of Matteson Avenue in Los Angeles.

After Los Angeles Police Department officers had arrived in order to assist their Santa Monica colleagues, a perimeter was established around an apartment building in the area.

The officers found an unloaded silver Smith & Wesson 9mm weapon in the vehicle and shortly afterwards located the suspect in the apartment building.

The L.A. resident was arrested and charged with assault with a deadly weapon. Bail was set at $50,000.
