Hot Flash Universe: The Sexiest, Most Beautiful Flowers:

I love to take photos of flowers. I started about a year ago when I bought a decent camera to really capture the amazing details of nature. I feel like I go into another world when I am doing it, and I’ve taken some amazing shots.

I walk around my otherwise mundane neighborhood and find and shoot the tiniest bud, a miniature jungle, a beautifully bloomed bright pink rose, or the sun’s rays through the trees.

It’s quite calming, and the photos make me happy. It’s like collecting nature’s jewels.

Now, I’ve taken it a step further and have started to grow my own flowers. They have to be sexy and beautiful – that’s my thing. I did a little research to find the sexiest, most beautiful flowers on the planet.

The Calla Lily is so sophisticated and sexy. You only have to have one flower in a vase to make a statement. Calla lilies were the flowers I had in my wedding.

Each bridesmaid carried one. I had a whole bouquet – very dramatic. They will most definitely be in my garden.

When tulips start to bloom, I know it’s officially spring. The bevy of colors is amazing; white, pink, purple, cream, yellow, orange, red, and many combinations of each. I love a vase of tulips in my dining room. It makes me feel happy and light.

Lily of the Valley has been my favorite flower, ever since I was a little girl. The cascading little flower “bells” bloomed in my grandmother’s garden every May.

I was born on the same say she was born in May. And, Lily of the Valley is the flower of May. Every birthday, she would give me the most gorgeous bouquet of them. I wish they were able to grow in California. And I miss my Granny Annie.

Sunflowers make me smile. Every time. I fill my office with sunflowers on a weekly basis. They are recognized for their beauty, but they are also a source of food, with the sunflower oil and sunflower seeds. They will also be in my garden.

The tiny blue flowers Forget-Me-Nots are so precious. They are a true sign of love or friendship. They bloom in the spring, and need mild temperatures and shade. Maybe a bit too precious for me to grow them. I will stick to taking photos of them, the little darlings!

Lavender is a very sexy flower with an undeniably intoxicating scent. So romantic and earthy. It’s also drought resistant (perfect for California), and does well in the sun. Another great thing about lavender is that you can dry it and use it as a sweet smelling sachet, as well as cook with it. They will definitely go in my garden!

Roses are still the sexiest, most romantic flower on earth. And they are drought-resistant as well. The cool thing about roses is that each color has a special meaning:

Red roses are the ultimate symbol of love and enduring passion. I’m blushing!

A white rose represents purity and innocence, and is often referred to as a bridal rose. I am ‘way beyond this meaning, but they are absolutely lovely.

Yellow roses mean friendship, joy, and caring. They bloom in my garden already.

I arranged to have these at my father’s funeral. A very special rose indeed.

Pink roses symbolize elegance, refinement and femininity. It also conveys gratitude, happiness and grace. Now I know why they are my favorites!

In addition to having a beautiful place to feel at peace, happy and one with nature, you get a big bonus when gardening. Ladies and gentlemen – for every hour you garden, you will burn 200-400 calories per hour! Awesome. Can’t wait to get my hands dirty.
