Mel Brooks To Voice Dracula’s Vampire Father In “Hotel Transylvania 2”:

Mel Brooks has signed on as the voice of Dracula’s vampire father in “Hotel Transylvania 2,” Sony Pictures Animation announced Wednesday.

Dracula, voiced by Adam Sandler, and all of his monster friends are back in the sequel, in which the ancient, undead and incredibly grumpy vampire Vlad arrives at the hotel for an impromptu family get-together.

Brooks, who takes on the role 40 years after helming the horror-comedy classic “Young Frankenstein,” said he’s “having a wonderful time with the character Vlad. He’s been around for eons and he’s a pretty crabby guy. Basically, he reminds me of me.”

Sandler is executive-producing the film, which is slated for a Sept. 25 release.
