Bloomgindale’s Santa Monica Employee Arrested On Embezzlement Charge:

A Bloomgindale’s Santa Monica employee was busted for embezzlement at her work place.

A Bloomgindale’s Santa Monica employee was arrested Thursday, Dec. 11, after being caught voiding sales receipts from cash paying customers and then pocketing the amounts from the registry.

Officers of the Santa Monica Police Department went to Bloomgindale’s department store at 315 Colorado Ave. at 3:05 pm in order to investigate a report of theft.

Upon arrival the officers spoke with the loss prevention agents at the store in order to ascertain what had happened.

The loss prevention agents told the officers that the store had discovered some transaction anomalies that had been occurring since October 2014.

The loss prevention agents added that they had reviewed footage from the store’s security cameras and had seen one of the clerks void sales receipts from cash paying customers and then remove the cash from the registry and place it into her pocket.

The officers confronted the suspected clerk and she immediately confessed to the crimes and promised to pay back all the money.

After she had made this promise she was arrested and taken off to jail.

This 21-year-old Los Angeles resident was charged with embezzlement. Bail was set at $20,000.
