More than 300 Santa Monica residents gathered Sunday afternoon at the Robert Berman Gallery at Bergamot Station Arts Center to collect their copies of the Land Use Voter Empowerment (LUVE) Initiative and begin collecting signatures for a possible ballot measure.

Armen Melkonians and Tricia Crane – the two Proponents of the LUVE Initiative – spoke of the need for residents to "take back our power" from the City over the future of Santa Monica land use.

The next event on LUVE’s calendar is a Q&A session hosted by Northeast Neighbors, Wednesday, March 9 at 7 pm at the Main Library (6th and Santa Monica Blvd.) in the Martin Luther King Jr. Auditorium.

"For those who want to support the LUVE Initiative by collecting signatures, copies of the petitions can be picked up seven days a week from 10am to 5pm at 1608 Montana Ave., the office of Residocracy board member Kate Bransfield," LUVE said.
