Average Price of Gas Rises in Largest Increase Since Early January

Latest Los Angeles County gas news.

The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County rose 1 cent Thursday, its largest increase since Jan. 8.

The average price of  $2.863 is 2.4 cents more than one week ago, 3.8 cents higher than one month ago and 12.9 cents greater than one year ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.

The Orange County average price recorded its largest increase since Dec. 31 — 1.5 cents. The average price of $2.859 is 3.4 cents more than one week ago, 3.5 cents higher than one month ago and 14.6 cents greater than one year ago.
