Patti Page, August 19, 7pm

Born Clara Ann Fowler in Muskogee, Oklahoma, Patti Page was the largest selling female singer throughout the 1950s and helped defined the decade of earnest, novelty-ridden adult pop with hits such as “The Doggy in the Window” and “I Went to Your Wedding.” By singing a wide range of popular material, she remained a chart force well into the ‘60s.

Jazz on the Lawn, August 20, 5-7pm

If you haven’t yet heard, the City of Santa Monica is offering free Sunday jazz concerts through August 27. Why not cruise on down with that special someone for a nice afternoon of cool jazz and warm rays? Performing will be the Acoustic Jazz Quartet; a terrific saxophone and guitar driven group. Also on the bill will be vocalist Cheryl Conley, who will be singing classic jazz from the Great American Songbook. Additionally, local artist Marcus Kuiland-Nazario will lead games of croquet nearby. Lawn chairs, blankets, coolers and picnic baskets are welcome, however, alcohol is not.
