Buddy Boren arrived in Santa Monica this week, ending his Route 66 bicycle ride at the Santa Monica Pier. This was the fifth cross-country trip for 63-year-old Boren, a cancer survivor, whose 2,500-mile ride from Chicago raised money for the Lance Armstrong Foundation. Boren’s message to cancer survivors is, “Do not give up, survival is possible.” photo by Margaret Molloy
