Among the many deals being done at the American Film Market (AFM) this week in Santa Monica, The Motion Picture Group, Inc., a film/entertainment financing and production company, announced that Filmmakers Ltd., an international film sales company, will be selling the worldwide rights to FUEL, the debut feature film of Michael Nash and a collaboration of Protocal Productions and Left Hook Films in association with The Motion Picture Group. The film, written and directed by Michael Nash and produced by Justin Hogan and Michael Nash, stars Dave Buzzotta, Joey D. Vieire, Tammy Tavaeres and Manny Suarez. Henri Kessler, the film’s Executive Producer, stated: “We are very pleased with the results of this film and the interest of Filmmakers Ltd., a firm that excels in selling independent films such as this as well as big budget event pictures. The AFM participants will find that FUEL defines the very essence of independent filmmaking.”
Arthur M. Coppola, president and CEO of The Macerich Company of Santa Monica, has been elected 2007 chair of The National Association of Real Estate Investment Trusts (NAREIT). “Building understanding and support for REITs among the investment community will be high on our agenda in 2007,” Coppola said.
