Ernie Andrews, December 23, 8/9:30pm

With a style that may recall Joe Williams, Philadelphia native Ernie Andrews began singing with his church choir as young lad. His early influences were Billy Eckstein and Al Hibbler, and by high school the impressive vocalist had already scored a few hits for the G&G label. Soon afterward, Ernie went on to spend a number of years cantillating with the Harry James Orchestra. Since then, he’s both toured and recorded extensively with a “who’s who” of artists. He was also featured prominently in the documentary Blues for Central Avenue.
