Santa Monica College and Arizona State University Partner to Offer Students Transfer Pathways

Tools intended to ensure a seamless transfer experience to ASU

By Sam Catanzaro

Santa Monica College (SMC) has launched new partnership with Arizona State University (ASU) to provide students a seamless transfer experience with the MyPath2ASU program.

According to SMC, this program is  a set of customized tools thata allows students to take the steps needed, at the start of their college experience, to successfully plan their transfer to ASU, ensuring a smooth transition process while .shortening the time to degree completion.

Many students experience a lot of stress during transfer. By reading mental health essays examples they will be able to learn more about this problem. It is very important to know more about mental health problems and explore possible ways to solve it.

“Santa Monica College has developed and relied on collaborative partnerships with institutions like ASU to ensure that students who wish to transfer to a four-year college/university of choice have intensive, customized support, thus ensuring a smooth path to their chosen career goal,” said SMC Superintendent and President Dr. Kathryn E. Jeffery. “Students using MyPath2ASU will find their transfer experience simplified.”

According to SMC, she following are among the ways the program simplifies the transfer process:

● End-to-end learner navigation through course-by-course guided pathways
●Ensure course applicability by assisting students with taking courses that apply to their associate and ASU bachelor’s degree
●Guaranteed general admission to ASU and admission into MyPath2ASU major choice if all requirements are satisfied; Some majors have additional or higher admission requirements
●More than 400 course-by-course guided pathways into immersion and online ASU degree program
●Self-service, degree progress tracking through My Transfer Guide to minimize loss of credit
●Connected experience through personalized ASU communications to prepare academically and build a connection to ASU

“These pathways will ensure their courses are applicable toward their degree in their chosen major and minimize credit loss,” SMC said in a press release announcing the program.
