If you’re not familiar with Odetta, you certainly should be. She’s sung for presidents, walked arm-in-arm with great civil rights leaders and influenced icons such as Bob Dylan, Janis Joplin and Joan Baez. Born Odetta Gordon, this tremendously gifted vocalist and guitarist’s sound is a mixture of Country Blues along with various types of folk. With seminal releases such as At the Gate of Horn and Sometimes I Feel Like Cryin’, Odetta showcases her superlative ability to interpret the American folk song.
