New Bar and Restaurant in Santa Monica Has a Cannabis Twist

Nostalgia now open in former Speakeasy space on Pico Boulevard

By Dolores Quintana

Nostalgia is that new bar and will operate as a bar and lounge that serves a regular menu and then there is a private dinner space where the Herbal Chef, Chris Sayegh, will serve cannabis-based dinners.
For much of the time that The Herbal Chef has been operational, the dinners were held in industrial areas and in private homes. With the opening of Nostalgia, The Herbal Chef has found a home.

The Nostalgia bar and lounge menu was created by chefs Sayegh and Jared Ventura. Sayegh was formerly a chef at Josiah Citrine’s Mélisse. The menu includes a lobster roll with “deliciously poached fresh lobster, herb aioli, lobster shell caramel, and served on a toasted brioche roll” that comes with the option of adding Kaluga caviar, a Kobe toast that is “a toast to remember”; freshly made sourdough toast, whole grain mustard aioli topped with A5 Kobe Beef lightly torched with marinated radish, turnip and microgreens” and Oysters Two ways, “a bit of fire and ice to accentuate these beautiful Aunt Dotty Oysters from Ducksberry, MA”, with a choice of smoked furikake sabayon or pineapple habanero granita. For dessert, the menu has a strawberry trifle with Strawberry Bavarian Cream, vanilla Chantilly, fresh strawberries, white sponge, Marcona almond crumble.

Nostalgia is located at 1326 Pico Blvd. in the former Speakeasy space.
