The Festival Will Honor Jeff Ho, Iconic Surfboard Shaper and Founder of the Zephyr Surf Team, and Kathy Kohner Zuckerman, the Real-Life “Gidget”
The Santa Monica Pier is set to host the Pier 360 Beach Festival on June 29-30, marking the official start of summer with a weekend of sports, entertainment, and family activities.
A major highlight of the free event is beach volleyball, featuring legendary players such as Sinjin Smith, Randy Stoklos, Jim Menges, Dane Selznick, Kathy Gregory, Nancy Cohen-Fredgant, Misty May-Treanor, Butch May, Eileen Clancy-McClintock, Liane Sato, Ernie Suwara, Tom Chamales, and Bob “Vogue” Vogelsang.
The festival will honor Jeff Ho, iconic surfboard shaper and founder of the Zephyr Surf Team, and Kathy Kohner Zuckerman, the real-life “Gidget,” with the “Spirit of Santa Monica” awards for their contributions to Southern California culture.
Beyond sports, the festival offers a range of activities for all ages, including live music, cultural dance performances, and an Ocean Brews + Bites Garden featuring local snacks and drinks. Attendees can also enjoy interactive activities like a Ninja Warrior Obstacle Course and a roller skating rink, as well as brand samplings from Evolve Protein Shake, Celsius, Best Day Brewing, Hot Dog on a Stick, and more.
The Pop-Up Museum of Beach Culture will highlight Santa Monica’s history in beach sports, including paddleboarding, beach volleyball, and skateboarding.
