Santa Monica’s 31st Annual Candy Cane Drive Brings Santa to Neighborhood Parks

Police Officers and Firefighters Lead Santa Claus on a Festive Tour Across the City

Santa Claus will soon spread holiday cheer across Santa Monica on Saturday, December. 9, as the city’s police officers and firefighters lead the way in the 31st Annual Candy Cane Drive. The beloved tradition, sponsored by the Santa Monica Police Officers Association and Santa Monica Firefighters Local 1109, brings Santa to each of the city’s police beats, delivering thousands of candy canes to children.

Families are invited to join in the festivities, which offer a chance for kids to meet Santa and take photos. Parents are encouraged to bring cameras to capture the holiday magic, while children can look out for the flashing lights and sirens of the public safety vehicles accompanying Santa.

This year’s schedule includes stops at:

  • Douglas Park (Beat 4): 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m.
  • Christine Reed Park (Beat 1): 11:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
  • Virginia Avenue Park (Beat 3): 1:30 p.m. to 2:15 p.m.
  • Clover Park (Beat 2): 2:30 p.m. to 3:15 p.m.

The Candy Cane Drive remains a cherished tradition in Santa Monica, fostering community connection and holiday spirit for residents of all ages.
