Metro Restores Full Bus Service to Palisades Fire Zone Starting Next Week

Agency officials said the changes were driven by rider complaints, operator input and performance data

Nearly a year after the Palisades Fire forced major bus detours, Los Angeles Metro will fully restore pre-fire service on Line 602 beginning Sunday, Dec. 14, returning local routes and stops to their original paths through the fire-impacted Westside neighborhoods.

The restoration of Line 602 is part of Metro’s twice-yearly service shake-up that also brings back full operations on Lines 660 and 662 in communities hit by the Eaton Fire. Agency officials said the changes were driven by rider complaints, operator input and performance data collected since the January blazes.

Other Westside and Central Los Angeles adjustments taking effect Dec. 14 include an 18-month detour for Line 30 around the Los Angeles Convention Center expansion project and the renumbering of Line 106 to Line 74 for consistency with downtown route standards.

The December changes also extend late-night service on Line 60 to Artesia Station and tweak Hollywood routing on Line 206 to improve connections.
