There will be no clearance sales or special discounts leading up to the closure because inventory will be at the new store.

The Anthropologie store on the Third Street Promenade in Santa Monica is set to close June 1 as part of a relocation to Marina del Rey, according to the company.

The current location at 1402 Third Street Promenade, in downtown Santa Monica, will shut its doors after operating as part of the popular outdoor shopping district. Company representatives said the move is a relocation rather than a closure, and a new store is planned for the Waterside shopping area in Marina del Rey. An exact address for the new location was not disclosed.

The retailer said there will be no clearance sales or special discounts leading up to the closure because inventory will be at the new store.

Anthropologie, which sells women’s clothing, accessories and home goods, was founded in 1992 and operates more than 200 stores worldwide. The brand is part of URBN, a portfolio that includes several global consumer brands.
