Chamberlain Coffee, the popular coffee brand from social media influencer and entrepreneur Emma Chamberlain, is opening its first full-scale brick-and-mortar location in Venice Beach on Abbot Kinney Boulevard this spring. In honor of the Los Angeles neighborhood’s namesake, the company is adding Italian drinks to the menu.

In a recent series of Instagram posts shot inside the new shop, located at 1142 Abbot Kinney Blvd., Chamberlain showcased the Italian drinks that will be added to its seasonal menu. An iced tiramisu latte — vanilla syrup, milk, ice, espresso with a mascarpone cream top and finished with cocoa powder — will be offered, along with an iced olive oil latte, a controversial drink which Chamberlain said customers should “give another try” after an unnamed conglomerate failed to popularize the beverage.

“There’s an art to the snacks that are sold in a coffee shop,” Chamberlain also said, before presenting the upcoming cafe’s snack lineup: Bjorn Qorn, Tony’s Chocolonely bars, Justin’s nut butter and peanut butter cups, Bobo’s oat bars and Annie’s organic cheddar bunnies.

Chamberlain first announced plans for the Venice cafe last month on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,” describing it as “bigger and better” than the brand’s grab-and-go spot at Westfield Century City — its first physical retail operation. “I’ve always wanted to do a cafe and it took five years to do it,” Chamberlain said on the talk show. “This next one is really the dream … A weekend stroll on Abbot Kinney. Are you kidding?”

The Abbot Kinney outpost’s interior will feature design elements that reflect those of the influencer’s kitchen — its walls and marble countertops are mint green, while its exterior and bathrooms are accented with the brand’s navy blue logo color. Copper is also integrated into its design.

“This particular cafe is special,” Chamberlain told Fallon. “It’s a bit bigger, so I’ve been able to really build it into an extension of my home. I’ve learned a lot about creating a space from designing my home. It was a magnum opus of sorts, home decor–wise. I was like, ‘I just want to bring this energy I’ve created at my home to other people, with a gorgeous drink too.’”

In the lead-up to the cafe’s opening, Chamberlain Coffee has posted animated shorts on social media paying tribute to Venice Beach’s history. Claymation-style animals are seen lifting weights on the beach — a nod to Venice’s “Muscle Beach” and “Dogtown” nicknames — in one video, while another features a figure depicting Chamberlain riding waves in the Pacific.

Being the entrepreneur behind one of America’s rising coffee brands is just one of many roles held by Chamberlain — the 24-year-old California native who first gained fame as one of the most prominent YouTube stars of the 2010s. Her podcast, Anything Goes with Emma Chamberlain, ranks among the top 60 podcasts in the U.S. on platforms such as Rephonic and Spotify. More recently, Chamberlain has ventured into acting with the role of Pickle in the new horror film Forbidden Fruits.

In 2019, Time magazine named her to its “25 Most Influential People on the Internet” list, three years before she appeared on the cover of Rolling Stone.

The Abbot Kinney cafe is the latest example of Venice Beach serving as a launching pad for a celebrity food brand. Earlier this month, Snoop Dogg’s Dr. Bombay Ice Cream company held a grand opening on the Venice Boardwalk for its first physical storefront.
